3. Borax Anhydrous for Glazes and Enamels
Borax anhydrous can be used as a stabilizer and bonding agent in firebricks and castables. Borax anhydrous gives an intermediate-temperature glassy bond prior to ceramic bond establishment, at which point the borate compound is frequently volatilized from the system.
The application of anhydrous borax in glazes and enamels is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
