Borax Decahydrate, Molecular Formular:Na2B4O7.10H2O, colorless translucent crystals or white crystal powder, odourless and salty. It loses crystalliferous water when it's heated up to 350-400degree and turns into anhydrous borax(Na2B4O7). density 1.72g/cm3; eaasy to dissolve in water andglycerol, but not in alcohol. Its solution in weak alkaline and present colorless glass-shaped when being melted.
Borax is the basic raw material of boron compound, almost all the boron compound can be made by borax. It is involves with an important and wide application in metallurgy, steel, machinery, military industry, cutting tools, papermaking, electronic valve, chemical, texitle etc.
